In this training video, we’re going to show you how to access, edit and share files and folders using the Nextcloud desktop client.

The desktop client can be easily downloaded from the web browser.

To get started, double-click the Nextcloud icon from the desktop. To access your files, select the three dots and click open folder.

Alternatively, you can navigate to My Computer and select the Nextcloud folder. This will open a familiar folder structure containing your personal files and folders that are synced with Nexcloud.

To edit a document, locate the file you wish to edit and double-click it. Make the appropriate changes and click save. This will automatically sync your changes to the file with Nextcloud.

To Share a file or folder, right click on the object you wish to share and select share with Nextcloud.

Nexcloud integrates with your Active directory, allowing you to share with internal users by typing in their name. You can also choose whether or not that person has permissions to share with other users or edit the document.

Alternatively, you can create a secure private link to share with users outside of your organization. Here you can password protect the link to secure sensitive information as well as set an expiration date on the share itself.

Next, copy the link and send it to the intended user. When the User opens the link in a web browser they will be prompted to enter a password to access the file.
