In this training video, we’re going to show you how to access, share, and edit documents using the Nextcloud web portal. In addition, we’ll show you how to use version history, which allows you to restore previous changes made to any document.
The web portal can be used to access personal files as well as your company network drive. To log into the Nextcloud web portal use your active directory account credentials.
The center dashboard shows all your personal files and folders that you have access to as well as your companies network share, eliminating the need for a VPN connection.
Just as with the desktop client, the web portal has the same ability to share and edit documents.
To edit a document, click on the file you wish to edit. The file will open in the appropriate program allowing you to make changes to the document within the web browser.
Edits to the document are applied in real time.
You can also view version history to restore any changes previously made to the document. To do this, click on the three dots next to the document you wish to view, click on details, and select Versions.
To view a previous version of the document, click the download arrow. When you’re ready to restore changes from a pervious version click the Restore button and the existing file will be overwritten.
Version history is retained in Nextcloud for up to 30 days.
