Performing a Skype for Business Call Transfer Using a Polycom Desk Phone

In this training video, we’re going to show you how to perform a call transfer using the Polycom VVX 411 desk phone.

There are two ways to transfer a call using the Polycom desk phone: Blind Mode and Consultative Mode.

Blind Transfer Mode

When a phone is in blind transfer mode, the call transfer happens as soon as you initiate the transfer.

While on a call, press the transfer button, the other party will be placed on hold automatically.

Dial the Extension, or the phone number of the person you are transferring the call to, then press send.

The call will immediately be transferred.

Consultative Transfer Mode

When a phone is in consultative transfer mode, the call transfer is only completed after you announce the call to the person you are transferring the call to.

While on a call, press the transfer button, the other party will be placed on hold automatically.

Dial the extension or the phone number of the person you are transferring the call, to then press send.

Announce the call to the other party, if they wish to accept the call, press transfer again.

If they do not wish to accept the call, press cancel.

Then choose the line with the blinking red light. This will allow you to pick the call back up and inform the other party that you will not be transferring the call.
